We are extremely proud to announce that our T5 barrel was selected for the “Made in France” Great Exhibition at the Elysée Palace. This exhibition took place on 18 and 19 January after being inaugurated by Emmanuel Macron on 17 January.
This limited edition barrel is produced on Taransaud’s Merpins site by master coopers boasting the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) title. T5 represented the Allier département, since 100% of its staves are made from wood from the Tronçais forest, an exceptional forest located in Allier. The logs are split and the rough staves shaped in Cérilly, on the site of the stave mill in the Pays de Tronçais region. This is one of the four stave mills operated by Chêne Bois, Taransaud’s sister company that purchases and processes French oak wood for Taransaud.
