We are extremely proud that two of our team members are young coopers who recently received medals in the French national finals of the Olympiades des Métiers (Worldskills) competition: Aurélien Boissout received the gold medal and Pierre Marconnet finished third.
Pierre is a young cooper recently recruited in Beaune and Aurélien completed an apprenticeship at Taransaud and finished first in his class in 2014. Aged 23, Aurélien currently works in the Tanks and Vats workshop.
Aurélien and Pierre were competing with two other competitors for these French national finals held in Bordeaux from 9 to 11 March. Twenty hours were given to repair a 225 litre barrel (two staves and a piece of heading) and to realize manually a 265 litre barrel specially designed for the competition.
